Changing mode

To switch functions, you must always proceed via the default setting.

1. If the lock is not in the default setting, reset to the default setting according to one of the following sections: Reset the lock to the default setting Mode 1 or Programming to the default setting using the mode card.
2. Program the desired function as described in the section Programming from the default setting Mode 1 to Mode 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Programming Mifare from the default setting Mode 1 to Mode 2, 3, 4 or 5.

When programming to a new function (mode) from the default setting, you need the programming card and the mode card for the function you want to program to.

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, place the desired mode card over the lock until you hear two beeps in succession as confirmation signal.

Note: In the default setting and Mode 2, users must also be programmed in – see the section Add users.

Programming EM from the default setting Mode 1 to Mode 2, 3, 4 or 5.

When programming to a new function (mode) from the default setting, you need the programming card, the service card and the mode card for the function you want to program to.

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, place the desired mode card over the lock until you hear two beeps in succession as confirmation signal.
3. Place the programming card over the lock once more. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
4. Within 7 seconds, place the service card over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.

Note: In the default setting and Mode 2, users must also be programmed in – see the section Add users.

Reset the lock to the default setting Mode 1

To reset, you will need the programming card and service card. Resetting will erase all modes and users.

1. Hold the programming card over the lock for more than 10 seconds. When the reset beep is heard, any other users will have been erased and the lock is in the default setting.
2. Wait for 10 seconds, and then hold the programming card over the lock once more. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
3. Within 7 seconds, hold the service card over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal. The service card has now been added and acts as a master key for the lock.

The lock is now ready to add new users. (See the section Add users.)

Programming Mifare to the default setting Mode 1 with the mode card

Suitable for companies with a large number of storage units.

When programming from Mode 2, 3, 4 or 5 to the default setting you need the programming card and the mode card for the mode that you are programming from. (If the lock for example is in Mode 5 you will need the Mode 5 card.)

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, hold the mode card for the mode you are programming from over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.

The lock is now in the default setting and ready to store users (see the section Add users) or for you to program a new mode. Note that you always have to return to the default setting to change between the various configurations.

Programming EM to the default setting Mode 1 with the mode card

Suitable for companies with a large number of storage units.

When programming from Mode 2, 3, 4 or 5 to the default setting you need the programming card, the service card and the mode card for the mode that you are programming from. (If the lock for example is in Mode 5 you will need the Mode 5 card.)

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, hold the mode card for the mode you are programming from over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.
3. Place the programming card over the lock once more. You will hear uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
4. Within 7 seconds, place the service card over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.

The lock is now in the default setting and ready to store users (see the section Add users) or for you to program a new mode. Note that you always have to return to the default setting to change between the various configurations.

Add users (default setting Mode 1 and Mode 2)

To add users, you need the programming card and the user cards that you want to add. In the default setting and Mode 2, several users can have joint access to the same lock.
These users are programmed into the lock. For Flexlock EM, up to 45 users can be programmed in, and for Flexlock Mifare up to 200 users.

Note that before you add the first user card to a new lock, the service card must be added.

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, place the user card over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.
3. Repeat for the desired number of users (EM: maximum of 45; Mifare: maximum of 200).

Remove users (default setting Mode 1 and Mode 2)

To remove users, you need the programming card and the user cards that you want to remove.

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Place the relevant user card over the lock until you hear the erasure signal.
3. To check that the user card has been removed, wait 5 seconds and then hold he user card over the lock. If everything is correct you will now hear an error signal consisting of 4 rapid beeps.

If instead you want to remove all users that have been added to the lock, see the section Reset the lock to the default setting.

Add a service card

The service card acts as a master key. To add a service card to the lock, you need the programming card and the service card.

1. Place the programming card over the lock. You will hear a succession of uniform beeps for 7 seconds.
2. Within 7 seconds, place the service card over the lock until you hear a beep as confirmation signal.

The service card has now been added.
