Formulae for positioning

Formulae for positioning hole patterns Lock plate A – Catapult

Overlay doors

This formula is based on a storage unit with an overlay door. Allow for any gaps to ensure positioning is as accurate as possible. The lock plate is positioned at a depth of 33 mm minus any gaps.

First, find out the fixed dimensions X1 = Board thickness of side panel Y1 = Board thickness of top panel.

Example:
If X1 = 16 mm and Y1 = 12 mm, we get:

Positioning of Flexlock
X = 16(=X1) + 12 = 28 mm
Y = 12(=Y1) + 6 = 18 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Depth = 33 mm - any gaps
Y2 = 18(=Y) – 12(=Y1) + 6 = 12 mm

Inset doors

This formula is based on a storage unit with an inset door. Allow for any gaps to ensure positioning is as accurate as possible.

First, find out the following dimensions:
X1 & Y1 = gaps along the horizontal and vertical axis, respectively.
Z1 = Board thickness of door.
Y = Your own choice of vertical positioning of Flexlock (must be more than 5 mm).

Example:
If X1 = 1 mm, Y1 = 1 mm, Y = 10 mm and Z1 = 16 mm, we get:

Positioning of Flexlock
Y = 10 mm
X = 12 – 1(=X1) = 11 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Y2 = 10(=Y) + 1(=Y1) + 6 = 17 mm
Z = 16(=Z1) + 33 = 49 mm

X = 16(=X1) + 12 = 28 mm
Y = 12(=Y1) + 8 = 20 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Depth = 54 mm - any gaps
Y2 = 20(=Y) – 12(=Y1) + 12.5 = 20.5 mm

Inset doors

This formula is based on a storage unit with an inset door. Allow for any gaps to ensure positioning is as accurate as possible.

First, find out the following dimensions:
X1 & Y1 = gaps along the horizontal and vertical axis, respectively.
Z1 = Board thickness of door.
Y = Your own choice of vertical positioning of Flexlock (must be more than 7 mm).

Example:
If X1 = 1 mm, Y1 = 1 mm, Y = 10 mm and Z1 = 16 mm, we get:

Positioning of Flexlock
Y = 10 mm
X = 12 – 1(=X1) = 11 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Y2 = 10(=Y) + 1(=Y1) + 12,5 = 23,5 mm
Z = 16(=Z1) + 54 = 70 mm

Overlay doors

This formula is based on a storage unit with an overlay door. Allow for any gaps to ensure positioning is as accurate as possible. The lock plate is positioned at a depth of 38 mm minus any gaps.

First, find out the fixed dimensions X1 = Board thickness of side panel Y1 = Board thickness of top panel.

Example:
If X1 = 16 mm and Y1 = 12 mm, we get:

Positioning of Flexlock
X = 16(=X1) + 7 = 23 mm
Y = 12(=Y1) + 1 = 13 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Depth = 38 mm - any gaps
Y2 = 13(=Y) – 12(=Y1) + 11 = 12 mm

Note: Carefully clean the surface where the mounting plate is to be fitted using the wet wipe supplied with it. Alternatively, use an isopropyl alcohol/water mix or heptane.

Overlay doors

This formula is based on a storage unit with an overlay door. Allow for any gaps to ensure positioning is as accurate as possible. The lock plate is positioned at a depth of 23 mm minus any gaps.

First, find out the fixed dimensions X1 = Board thickness of side panel Y1 = Board thickness of top panel.

Example:
If X1 = 16 mm and Y1 = 12 mm, we get:

Positioning of Flexlock
X = 16(=X1) + 6,5 = 22.5 mm
Y = 12(=Y1) + 18 = 30 mm

Positioning of lock plate
Depth = 23 mm - any gaps
Y2 = 30(=Y) – 12(=Y1) + 11.5 = 29.5 mm
